faints.
battle with spyware/malware, as well as the pesty so-called spyware removers. Ironically, these spyware removers, act like viruses too. Sticky, pesty bugs, which refuse to go away.
Thanks to BleepingComputer.com!!!!! okay, Google.com too, for googling out Dell Community Forum, which led me to BC. And opened my eyes to the serious stuff about internet.
I'm like a reformed internet user. I have rebooted my laptop a thousand times and scanned the system a million more. okay, not literally. but feels like it.
And I'm serious about it. (Ha.) For two whole days, I fiddled about with my dear little Acer TravelMate 3002WTCi. Not for games, or MSN or just idle netsurfing. But try to save her. (yes, a 'her'. Duh.) Now, she'll be scanned regularly. And NO WAY to anonymous popups that tricked into thinking, Ah it shouldn't be a problem. Those cunning little.. foxes? Doom to you forever.
Anyways, the nice people down at BleepingComputer.com saved my laptop's a**, that is, if she had one anyway. Apparently, they're volunteers who attended some form of 'internet' school to deal with such stuff.
Cursed be Spyware and Malware and virus-like spyware remover ads and the inventors of them. Cursed be Puper Trojan, specifically. heh.
Ah skeptical, paranoid me. I'm tempted to say, all's well, FOR NOW. And I will. Wait, I just did.
