.. of always being sick and tired.. yeah now i'm a little annoyed cuz i typed a whole entry and when i was done, the whole thing didn't work.. just disappeared. gee.. so i'm typing the rest all over again. how irritating.
well anyway, I AM sick.. but since i saw the doc, i shd be fine soon. :)
I read a book. no, two. A Child called it, and sequel, The Lost Boy. by Dave Pelzer. about child abuse. and the author was the victim of this mother's violent actions. it kept me hooked on to it from the moment i started reading it. took me 3hrs or so. pretty simple to read since it's written in a child's tone. really quite perverse. makes me seem sadistic, but it really breaks one's heart. imagine being forced to drink ammonia, eat crap. beaten all day. only able to eat a few scraps of leftover food only once in a few days. outcast of the family. weird thing is, that they WERE once a happy family. and then, the mother suddenly changed. and stayed that way or, became worse. never turned back even once. it's miracle he even survived. that he would even hope for something better instead of giving up.
today i finished The Lost Boy. his life after he was rescued. and it shows the prejudice that society has towards foster kids. many are victims. but people see them as too troublesome for their own parents to care for. a "burden to society".
as for those being abused at home, it's really difficult for social workers or the police to do the right thing. cuz who really knows what happens. it could be all a misunderstanding. even if it's real, some regard as "washing your dirty linen in public". (the chinese proverb) like family secret made public. a disgrace. maybe, but the abuser shd really get help too. psychological help. oh well, pretty controversial stuff, ya..
ok so reading time is over. time to study.
